Neymar da Silva Santos Júnior or popularly known as Neymar or Neymar Jr. among the football fanatics and others, is a professional footballer from Brazil. He plays as a forward for the Brazil national football team and the Paris Saint-Germain football club, a French club. Neymar moved from Barcelona to PSG (Paris Saint-Germain) for a record-shattering sum of $263 mn. The 25-year old sport sensation first rose to fame when he made his professional debut. He was just 17-year old then. He prominently helped his club win 2 back-to-back Campeonato Paulista championships, the 2011 Copa Libertadores, and a Copa do Brasil. Before joining Barcelona football club, Neymar was twice awarded the South American Footballer of the Year title in 2011 and 2012.

Neymar can be often seen showing off his dance skills after scoring goals. Besides his football career, Neymar is also known for promoting Brazilian modern pop music. A video in which Neymar can be seen grooving to Michel Teló’s hit song Ai se eu te pego! Right in the Santos locker room went viral. Neymar has appeared once in the live concert featuring Michel Teló. He even supported sertanejo singer Gusttavo Lima during one of his live performances. Neymar Jr. even had cameo appearances in music videos entitled Eu Quero Tchu, Eu Quero Tcha in 2012 and País do Futebol in 2013.

Ever since making his debut in the national football team of Brazil, Neymar has scored 52 goals in 77 matches. He is in fact, the 4th highest goal-scorer for the Brazilian national football team. Together with leading his national football team to win the 2011 South American Youth Championship, he won several eyeballs at the tournament by bagging the title of the leading goal-scorer during the tournament. He won the Golden Ball at 2013 FIFA Confederations Cup, which was also gained by his national football team. He became a national hero during the 2016 Summer Olympics, where he skippered the Brazilian football team to win their first-ever Olympic gold medal in men’s football. While some people love the Brazilian footballer for his game, others love him for being a nice and charitable person.

Neymar can be often spotted as wearing a headband saying 100% Jesus. He is a firm Christian believer who believes in that “Life only makes sense when our highest ideal is to serve Christ!” He named Kaká as his religious role model and donates 1/10th of his income to his church. Each year, together with fellow Brazilian footballer Nenê, Neymar organises a charity match at Jundiaí for raising food for the local underprivileged families.
