A legend in the game of football, Ronaldo Luis Nazario de Lima is a retired Brazilian footballer who is popularly known as Ronaldo. For such a genius of the game, there is no dearth of reasons for people developing a liking for him. In fact, his followers and various experts label him as one of the greatest footballers of all time. He had received the FIFA World Player of the Year award thrice during his career. He was the youngest footballer to receive this award in the year 1996. His fans still dub him as “the phenomenon.”

This 37-year-old footballer played as a complete striker during his long football career. He was always considered to be an unstoppable goalscorer. Many of the people do not know that he left his school at an early age of 11 to move on with his dream career in the game of football. He was so talented that he was made a part of the Brazilian national team in 1994 at a young age of 17. The team won that year’s FIFA World Cup, while Ronaldo showed his real worth in the 1998 World Cup in which he received the Golden Ball for being the player of the tournament.

Ronaldo was also the record goalscorer with 15 goals in his name during the 2006 FIFA World Cup. With him in the team, Brazil could never imagine to lose a tournament. He has always been a star in the club teams he remained associated with. Ranging from Cruzeiro, PSV Eindhoven and Barcelona to Inter Milan, Real Madrid and AC Milan, Ronaldo has seen it all and performed everywhere. Although he had to take premature retirement from the game due to some serious injuries, he will always be remembered by his fans for his extra-brilliant striking abilities.
