Why do designers use MacBook

Out of personal preference or apparent usability, designers generally opt for Macs over PCs. But do you know why they choose Macs over PCs? Well, designers need Photoshop software, few browsers and an HTML/CSS editor and while these things do run smoothly on Windows yet designers prefer to go for high cost alternatives as they are considered more functional and designer friendly.

One historical fact may explain this peculiar selection by designers. Long back Macromedia and Adobe both made their products, mainly Photoshop and design software in Apple’s Mac before they started it for windows. The reason they did so was because Macs were considered friendlier for designing software. Integrating different coding was easier and therefore, these design software were built on Mac’s platform.

Great software and operating system, easy to use, have great memory, capable of assisting graphic and technical designs and can handle complex data sets, Macs are exactly what graphic designers look for. Yeah it is certainly true, windows offer way too many software over Macs but still designers feel comfortable using Macs and many companies prefer people proficient in working with Mac OS while hiring graphics or web designers.

Speaking of Apps, Mac has some really excellent designer apps such Coda, MacRabbit’s, CSSEdit and Bare Bone’s TextWrangler which are more smoothly designed than many Windows software. Wi-Fi connectivity in Macs is far simpler than Windows PC as with only one click you can access the internet everywhere and no more complicated, hidden settings like windows.

Macs are a lot safer than PCs as they are less prone to viruses, have better high quality graphics and weigh less then PCs. Thinking of all these points now you know why graphic designers prefer Mac.
